The majority of our team have been with The Croft for many years and embody our “resident first” ethos. Residents’ families often comment to owners Reginald and Jeeva about how kind, caring and dedicated our team are.
Kind, patient people who genuinely care
Our managers, carers and domestic staff all have one thing in common — they are kind, patient and genuinely care for others. Drawn mainly from the Newton Abbot and Torquay communities, they are exceptionally good at relating to residents with a wide range of dementia symptoms.
Our energetic Registered Manager, Lucy, has over 10 years of experience in the care sector and has managed several homes in the local area. Caring for our residents is a whole-team effort.
Reginald and Jeeva Parker-Devadhas purchased The Croft in 2024. Both trained nurses, they bring extensive healthcare experience and thoroughly enjoy supporting the team and residents.
Days filled with warmth, activity and choice
We offer a range of activities and events to suit our residents’ individual tastes, preferences and abilities — some planned, others wonderfully spontaneous.
Animal Experiences
Regular visits from rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises and dogs — all trained to be handled. Many residents get immense pleasure from these gentle interactions.
Entertainment
Quizzes, bingo, arts & crafts, sing-alongs, chair aerobics, tea parties and memory-lane sessions, led by our team and visiting professionals.
Daily Living
Baking, cooking, gardening and everyday tasks. Our team also share their own interests — art, photography and more — with residents.
Wellbeing Services
A hairdresser, beautician, aromatherapist and chiropodist all visit regularly, plus hand massages and nail painting from our care team.
