Help The Croft Remember
The story of the Dot Clay Memorial Garden — a place of remembrance made possible by our community.
🌱 This fundraising project is now closed — and thanks to your generosity, we exceeded our target.

The Dot Clay Memorial Garden
With the help of donations totalling over £600 from friends of The Croft, our team refreshed the front garden with new planting, decking and painting — creating a lovely place of remembrance for the families of former residents, and somewhere for current residents to enjoy nature and the outdoors.
The garden was dedicated to the memory of Dorothy “Dot” Clay, a larger-than-life character and dedicated carer who was part of the heart and soul of The Croft. It was opened by BBC South West News anchor Victoria Graham in an intimate ceremony of family and friends.
We remain grateful to everyone who donated, and to Rob Easterbrook of Bovey Tracey, who volunteered his gardening expertise to help bring the garden back to life for our residents.
